Femtosecond nano-imaging reveals ultrafast optical control of phonon polaritons

A collaborative research team has successfully visualized in real space the ultrafast optical modulation of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) in a van der Waals heterostructure composed of hBN and WS2.
