- Following CMS's June data transfers and a July agreement with ICE, California Attorney General Rob Bonta and 21 other states sued to block Medicaid data sharing with DHS and ICE.
- The order specifies categories including citizenship or immigration status, address, phone number, date of birth, and Medicaid identification numbers but bars personal health records.
- Privacy groups warned that even limited data sharing could harm immigrant communities, and California Attorney General Rob Bonta's office said it was disappointed despite the court blocking broader disclosures Monday.
- The court left the prior injunction in place until next Monday, with the court hearing set for Friday if necessary and a final decision pending.
