Federal immigration officers tried to enter Ecuadorian consulate in Minneapolis but were stopped, foreign minister says
Ecuador protested after ICE agents tried unauthorized entry at its Minneapolis consulate during a federal enforcement surge known as Operation Metro Surge.

- Ecuador's Minister of Foreign Affairs lodged a formal `note of protest` with the U.S. Embassy in Quito, urging that such acts not be repeated at any Ecuadorian consular offices in the United States under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations .
