Federal election: Christian Lindner makes tax cuts a condition for coalition

Shortly before the traditional Epiphany meeting, FDP leaders swear their party to an alliance with the Union. Lindner has so far hoped in vain for a retaliation from the CDU and CSU. Surveys also do not bode well for a black and yellow alliance.

Before the FDP's Epiphany meeting, the party leader criticised state costs that had gotten "out of control". He wants to dissolve the Federal Environment Agency.

The FDP leader is making a firm statement: he will only be in favor of a coalition after the election if government spending and taxes are reduced. In fact, he only considers one partner - if the Liberals are elected.

According to FDP leader Lindner, tax cuts are a condition for the FDP to enter a coalition again. According to him, only a black-yellow alliance would offer the necessary boost for competitiveness and living standards in Germany - anything else would be "traffic light light".

Shortly before his party's Epiphany meeting in Stuttgart, FDP leader Christian Lindner made serious accusations against the SPD and the Greens. With a view to the federal election, he warned: "If politics does not change, people will question the system in 2029."
