Fatal House Fire North of Fremont Claims One Life, Injures Two Others
Firefighters found an active blaze and took two people to a hospital while one person died at the scene, officials said.
A house fire north of Fremont resulted in one death and two injuries on Monday morning. The Dodge County Sheriff said crews arrived around 4:15 a.m. and encountered an active fire upon arrival.
Officials identified the person who died as a 66-year-old woman. Two other people were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the fire.
Investigators from the Nebraska State Fire Marshal's office determined the fire resulted from smoke-related circumstances. The property sustained significant damage and is considered a total loss.
Responding agencies, including firefighters and emergency medical personnel, assisted at the scene. The Dodge County Sheriff commended their collaborative efforts during the incident.
