- Created in 2005 by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and acquired by Sony in 2024, the festival was founded to celebrate genre and horror films.
- Among studio tentpoles are Universal and Blumhouse’s ‘Black Phone 2’ and Lionsgate’s ‘The Strangers: Chapter 2,’ part of 45 World Premieres at the festival.
- Offering substantial support, Fantastic Pitches will debut, providing $100,000 in funding and a global distribution deal from Chroma, with finalists pitching before a jury of industry experts.
- Specialty screenings include restored genre films via the American Genre Film Archive and a micro-budget animation block, leading into a secret closing party.
