Gavin Hinkley, 21, and his fiancée, Madeline Fox, 20, were running errands when they were hit in their vehicle at an intersection in the city of Calimesa, according to the lawsuit. Fox suffered "catastrophic" injuries, including brain trauma, the suit says.
