Wiesbaden – General practitioners provided care to an average of more than 1,200 people last year, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The Federal Office calculated the level of care by dividing the number of existing general practitioners by the local population. There are significant differences between the federal states.

The density of general practitioners in Germany has hardly changed in the past ten years. However, the distribution of doctors among the individual federal states is very different.
