Families Demand Truth: Air India Crash Data Appeal
- On Saturday, around 30 bereaved families gathered in Ahmedabad and wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting release of the Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder data from the Air India crash.
- Nearly ten months ago, Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 aircraft, crashed into a medical college hostel shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, killing 260 people.
- Kinjal Patel from Vasad, who lost her mother, described struggles using the Air India website to recover belongings: "There are over 25,000 items listed, but the images are unclear."
- Romin Vora from Kheda criticized communication channels, saying "There is only one email ID, and responses take up to 15 days." Families also sent letter copies to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and DGCA.
- The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau submitted a preliminary probe report in July last year and is expected to submit the final report in June, close to the first anniversary of the tragedy.
