Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub Not Available for ODIs Against Australia
The openers are recovering under the PCB medical panel, and Pakistan will announce further squad and fitness updates later.
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board ruled opening batters Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia beginning May 30.
Both players are currently recovering from injuries under supervision of a PCB medical panel, with sources indicating recurring knee and ankle issues affecting their availability.
Fakhar has previously missed matches due to chronic knee problems, while Saim reportedly re-injured his ankle during the Pakistan Super League; both last appeared in ODIs against Sri Lanka in November 2025.
Sahibzada Farhan, who participated in the recent Bangladesh series, is likely to retain his opening spot for the Australia matches, with Babar Azam also under consideration.
The three-match series begins at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30, with subsequent matches at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on June 2 and 4, marking Australia's return for a 50-over assignment.
