Honda returns as a works partner for Aston Martin with a power unit featuring triple the electrical power and sustainable fuels under new 2026 F1 regulations.
- Recently, Honda Racing Corporation officially launched the RA626H 2026 power unit with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, attended by Toshihiro Mibe, Stefano Domenicali, and Lawrence Stroll.
- Aston Martin, which had used Mercedes customer engines, is now a works team, and Honda announced its new plan to join forces with Aston Martin in 2023, with collaboration between AMR Technology Centre and HRC in Sakura.
- The RA626H features a prominent large orange battery pack mounted on the front of the engine, with the 2026 rules allowing three times more electrical power and nearly 50% maximum output.
- Aston Martin said it is confident it can fight for victory and trusts Honda's power unit and HRC engineers, while naming Adrian Newey team principal and assigning Andy Cowell to engine integration.
