Israeli F-35 Notches First Kill of a Manned Fighter in Downing of Iranian Yak-130
The Israeli Air Force's F-35I 'Adir' achieved its first-ever air-to-air kill by downing an Iranian Yak-130 trainer jet amid ongoing strikes on Iranian targets, the IDF said.
An Israeli F-35I fighter jet shot down an Iranian Air Force Yakovlev Yak-130 trainer aircraft over Tehran on Wednesday, marking the first time an F-35 has downed a manned aircraft.
The incident occurred amid intense aerial operations in an ongoing war between Israel, supported by the United States, and Iran.
The F-35 is a US-made fifth-generation stealth multirole fighter jet, while the Yak-130 is a Russian-designed training and light attack aircraft.
The Israeli Air Force has released a video claiming that its F-35 Adir fighter jet shot down an Iranian Yak-130 aircraft over Tehran. Israel claims this is the first time in history that an F-35 has shot down a manned fighter jet in air-to-air combat. This incident has further escalated the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
The Israeli army published images at the time when an American F-35 aircraft belonging to Israel's air forces won winters, over Tehran, an Iranian war aircraft, Yak-130, Russian manufacturing.
