Turkey ' s merchandise exports during the past September registered the highest level ever for this month, having risen by 15.4 per cent on an annual basis to $26 billion.
Announcing the September foreign trade figures at a press conference, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said, "A record high for September exports has been achieved. With a 15.4% increase, we reached a total of $26 billion in exports in September compared to September of last year. This $26 billion in September goods exports is the second highest monthly figure in the 103-year history of the Republic."
Evaluating the September foreign trade data, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated, "Despite rising imports due to the impact of commodity prices, the increase in the foreign trade deficit (US/Israel-Iran) remained more limited than anticipated at the beginning of the war."
Minister Şimşek stated that exports increased by 15.4 percent year-on-year in September, reaching $283.7 billion on an annualized basis.
