Europe @75: Celebrating Europe Day in Türkiye

Europe celebrates its day every 9 May, in commemoration of the peace and unity achieved by European countries, and this celebration also coincides with the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration of May 1950, which promoted a new form of cooperation between European nations.

This year, Europe Day in Türkiye will be celebrated with a wide range of concerts and cultural events taking place across the country throughout May

The European Parliament today established the European Order of Merit to mark the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. This new civilian decoration will be awarded for the achievements of individuals who have made a significant contribution to European integration and values, the European Parliament announced, adding that there is currently no similar decoration at EU level.
