The European Parliament voted 379–300 to reject fast-tracking the Commission’s proposition to enshrine a 90% net-GHG reduction by 2040, routing it instead through the ordinary legislative procedure and handing the far-right Patriots for Europe the lead on drafting the Parliament’s position.
