The Dutch Consumers Association and other European consumer organizations have filed a complaint with the European Commission against energy companies for greenwashing. According to the association, research shows that European energy companies, such as Engie and Shell, present fossil gas as a clean or climate-friendly choice.
What to choose Together, in coordination with the European Bureau of Consumer Unions (BEUC) and 10 other consumer organisations from 9 countries (1), alerts the European Commission and the CPC network (of which DGCCRF is part) on the environmental claims of certain energy suppliers and, more specifically for the French domestic market, Engie, Plenitude (Eni) and TotalEnergys.
