EU Parliament Votes for Less Bureaucracy on Imports
The EU Parliament wants to reduce the bureaucratic burden on imports of energy-intensive goods such as steel and fertilizer. MEPs in Brussels voted for a change to the so-called CO2 border compensation system (CBAM) to protect local companies from the import of cheap energy-intensive goods, which are subject to less stringent climate conditions in the country of origin.
