The game is expected to be Epic’s comeback effort after 1,000 layoffs and mixed internal reviews, Bloomberg reported.
- Bloomberg reports that Epic Games is developing a new extraction shooter featuring Disney characters set to launch in November, marking the first of three titles from Disney's $1.5 billion 2024 investment.

- Internal reviews have expressed concern the game's mechanics are 'not very original,' though the project remains the most promising of three in development; it mirrors Embark Studios' Arc Raiders.
- Liz Markman, Epic's Senior Director of Communications, disputed the reporting, stating it is 'not reflective of the ambitions of the Disney collaboration'; the developer confirmed plans to shutter Rocket Racing, Ballistic, and Festival Battle Stage.
- Tech journalist Alex Heath reported on podcast The Town that Disney executives are pushing to eventually acquire Epic, though Disney maintains it remains 'focused' on its long-term collaboration with the developer.
