Enoch Burke returned to jail for breaching court orders
Enoch Burke was arrested after breaching a court injunction barring him from Wilson's Hospital School, leading to his immediate return to Mountjoy Prison, the court said.
- On Monday, Mr Justice Brian Cregan found Enoch Burke in contempt and ordered his immediate committal to Mountjoy Prison after his arrest outside Wilson's Hospital School.
- The judge had released Burke last Wednesday to prepare a legal case but instructed him not to return to Wilson's Hospital School, yet he trespassed there on January 15 and 16.
- A security guard employed by Wilson's Hospital School stopped Enoch Burke at the boundary and he stood just inside the gate while Gardaí arrived in two marked cars, led him to a car, and his brother Isaac Burke filmed the arrest.
- Burke has been fined more than €225,000 and jailed for 550 days, and he is due back in court on Wednesday in his challenge against the Disciplinary Appeals Panel.
- His case traces back to a 2022 dispute over a pupil's new name and pronouns, and he alleges the DAP denied fair procedures at the December 13 hearing.
