How digital health is making early type 1 diabetes screening easier

Screening Central, a telehealth-enabled platform, was created to modernize T1D screening access, bringing the process to the digital age.
T1D is an autoimmune disease where the pancreas makes little to no insulin, and up to 90% of those diagnosed have no family history of it.
Screening Central leverages digital health innovation to help overcome existing barriers to screening and facilitate early T1D risk detection.
Early detection of T1D through screening is valuable because it allows individuals time to prepare before symptoms arise, while many people, as many as four in 10, are not diagnosed until they are hospitalized with life-threatening complications.
The T1D Index estimates that approximately 1.6 million people in the U.S. Are living with T1D, and the hope is that by 2025, no one will be diagnosed in Stage 3 under potentially life-threatening circumstances.
