Elron resumes Tallinn–Narva rail service on eastbound route
Summary
Elron's eastbound passenger rail service resumed early Tuesday afternoon after a damaged overhead line halted trains on the Tallinn–Narva route for several hours.
AS Eesti Liinirongid, which uses the Elron trademark, stopped passenger train traffic east of Tallinn for at least half a day because the catenary network under construction between Kohtla-Nõmme and Püssi station was broken during the night and is preventing train movement. According to the Kapo, this is not sabotage.
This morning, the passenger train connection to Jõhvi was interrupted because the catenary network under construction between Kohtla-Nõmme and Püssi station was damaged, preventing the movement of trains. The contractor explained that thieves got their hands on the catenary.
