Retail sales in Finland contracted by 0.5 percent last year. The Finnish Chamber of Commerce predicts growth of 0.5 percent this year and 1.5 percent next year. Department stores, hypermarkets and discount stores have fared best in the difficult years, while hardware, home appliances, interior design and sports stores have had a hard time.
