It emerged that employees of school textbook publisher Dainippon Tosho Co. had handed cash to a school principal on the city's textbook selection committee in return for favors. In response, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has informally decided to reject the publisher's application for screening of textbooks.
