Ecuador’s capital rocked by water shortage crisis upending daily life
SOUTHERN QUITO, ECUADOR, JUL 16 – Emergency crews have cleared 67% of landslide debris and deployed 71 water tankers to restore service and supply water to 400,000 residents in southern Quito, officials said.

- Quito Mayor Pabel Muñoz said drinking water service is expected to be restored by Sunday, while Carolina Jaramillo plans to install three portable treatment plants within 48 hours.
