As of July 1, the European Union (EU) charges three euros per item for small shipments arriving from countries outside the EU. Although Serbia is not a member of the Union, experts warn that part of the cost could be passed on to domestic consumers who buy goods through platforms such as Temu and AliExpress, because a large number of shipments from China arrive in Serbia via European logistics centers.
It is not uncommon to have people around buying a T-shirt in Temu, decoration items in Shein or even perfumes or other products for the day to day. The reality is that Brussels wants to put a stop to this kind of dynamics and the conclusion may be that stopping to resort to these pages can be a step forward for the strategic autonomy of the EU.
