Early voting starts Wednesday in Oklahoma
Thousands of voters can cast ballots early this week as counties add sites and officials cite shorter lines and easier access.
Oklahoma's in-person early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 28, running through Saturday, Oct. 31, with polls open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax stated that "there are plenty of opportunities for voters to cast their ballot," as several county boards expanded access. Cleveland County offers six sites; Oklahoma County opened three locations.
Voters will decide on legislative seats, statewide offices, and congressional races alongside two ballot measures. State Question 845 addresses Judicial Nominating Commission rules; State Question 847 proposes lowering property tax assessment caps starting in 2027.
Voters must cast ballots in their registered county and present state, federal, or tribal identification to receive a ballot. Those lacking ID may vote provisionally and can locate polling places via the State Election Board website.
These early voting days lead to the Nov. 3 General Election. Oklahoma maintains one of the nation's shorter early voting windows, yet officials aim to provide sufficient opportunity for voters to participate in upcoming contests.
