Eagles get good news on Saquon Barkley for Week 7 MNF game vs. Cowboys
Barkley has missed two games with a hamstring injury, and the Eagles are hoping his return will lift a rushing attack averaging 82.2 yards per game.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is expected to return to practice Thursday and "is in line to play" Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys, according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.
Barkley missed the past two games following a hamstring injury suffered during the Eagles' October 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, with Philadelphia dropping both contests in his absence.
Without their star running back, the Eagles' ground game ranks 29th in the NFL, averaging 82.2 yards per game, while Barkley recorded 182 yards on 36 carries across four appearances this season.
The Dallas Cowboys' defense ranks among the worst at stopping the run, while defensive coordinator Vic Fangio noted it is "possible" injured edge rusher Jalyx Hunt plays this week.
With Philadelphia owning only a 31% chance to make the playoffs, general manager Howie Roseman faces critical decisions ahead of the trade deadline; Barkley remains under contract through 2028 following his $41.2 million extension.
