By 2030, 95 percent of the population will find a fast charging station within a ten-kilometre radius. This is the goal of the government. Support for the transition to vehicles with zero-emission drive should also help with the mobility turnaround.
A purchase premium for e-cars is first of all history under the austerity program of the current government. This also applies to the tax exemption of electricity-powered cars. However, the government wants to further promote e-mobility. In addition to funds for electric buses, trucks and two-wheelers, infrastructure minister Peter Hanke (SPÖ) relies on the construction of charging stations in the country.
With an investment of around 480 million euros by 2026, Austria wants to drive the mobility turnaround. The focus is on expanding the charging infrastructure for e-vehicles.
