The arrests were carried out on Monday morning by gendarmes of the Marseille research section. They were conducted in the Bouches-du-Rhône as well as several French prisons.
A large-scale judicial operation is currently targeting the criminal group DZ Mafia, considered one of the dominant drug trafficking networks in Marseille. On Tuesday, 42 people had already been placed in Marseilles.
The gendarmes of the Marseille research section made arrests in several departments, including the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Var, the Vaucluse and the Gard.
