Duncan council votes unanimously to renew permit for The Village
BC Housing will fund new modular units and expand The Village to 40 spaces while requiring neighbourhood security checks.

- Funding under the HEARTH program will allow expansion from 34 to 40 spaces and unit replacements, though the program excludes coverage for neighborhood security costs.
- Mayor Michelle Staples praised the initiative, stating, "I know those here recognize the value of The Village, and what it brings to the people, our community and how it's also changed it."
- Lookout CEO Shane Williams plans to expand the peer program to reconnect with tenants, while BC Housing will explore collaborative solutions through the Homelessness Response Leadership Table in Cowichan.
