Drunk Hit-and-Run Man Charged with Murder After Dragging Victim 140m (Kyodo News)

In February, a woman in her 50s who runs a restaurant in Midori Ward, Nagoya, was hit and killed by a light van in a drunk driving hit-and-run incident. On the 28th, the Nagoya District Public Prosecutors Office indicted Masamasa Saito (26), an unemployed man from Togo Town, Aichi Prefecture, on charges of murder, alleging that he dragged the woman to her death by meandering his car for over 140 meters with the intent to kill her.
