Troopers said Melfi J. Paz Perez, of Utica, was northbound and weaving across the center line on Route 8 at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday, April 16 when his 2016 Hyundai Elantra crashed into a southbound 2022 Volvo big rig, driven by Anthony T. Becker, 57, of Pennsylvania. Troopers said Becker attempted to avoid the crash but could not.
