Driver Dies in Kent During Pacific Raceways Competition
A driver died after a three-vehicle collision at the vintage race event, and another driver suffered minor injuries, officials said.
A driver died in a three-vehicle crash at Pacific Raceways in Kent on Sunday during the 38th Annual Pacific Northwest Historics vintage racing event.
The Society of Vintage Racing ENthusiasts hosted the three-day event, drawing more than 160 competitors from across the country to participate in specialized racing challenges.
Three vehicles collided around 2:10 p.m., prompting the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority to respond; one driver died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts, another suffered minor injuries, and a third was unharmed.
King County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating the collision; a spokesperson stated no additional information is currently available regarding the incident.
Pacific Raceways, located in unincorporated King County, featured vintage models including Datsun 510s, BMW 2002s, and Alfa Romeo GTAs and GTVs during the weekend event.
