Felipe de Jesús Díaz Gómez and Ricardo Mendoza Cerón, driver and chief dispatcher of the Interoceanic Train when it was derailed in Oaxaca on 28 December, were released yesterday afternoon, after the supervisory judge Diana Isabel Ivens decreed the dismissal of the criminal case after the reparation of the damage to the victims.
The company Ferrocarril del Isthmo de Tehuantepec, operator of the Interoceanic Train, has already paid compensation to most of the victims.

The prosecutor's office accused the crew of the vehicle as solely responsible for the accident due to negligence. The court's ruling also approves the full reparation of damages to the victims.
Felipe de Jesús Díaz and Ricardo Mendoza, arrested for their alleged involvement in the derailment of the Interoceanic Train that left 14 dead, were released after the closure of the case.
