Miners at the Silesia mine in Czechowice-Dziedzice are in their second day of protest. The workers are striking against mass layoffs announced by the private company's management. Currently, around 20 miners are underground, and a dozen or so more are continuing their protest above ground. It's possible that some will spend Christmas in the mine.
