Brazil’s tariffs of up to 50% on certain goods rank among the highest the US has imposed on any trading partner. Economists believe these tariffs won’t derail Brazil’s economy, but concerns remain, and Brazil has appealed to the WTO to help ease the trade restrictions.
The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, has classified the mixture of political and economic agendas in the United States relations with Brazil.
