New 700-plus-horse Dodge Charger Hellcat confirmed
It's finally confirmed: a supercharged 700-plus-horsepower Hellcat V8 will find its way under the hood of the new-gen Dodge Charger some time in the next five years. And it's not the only new high-performance SRT offering in the works, with a halo car dubbed "Copperhead" also in development on a similar timeline.
A more than ninety percent drop in sales was enough to bring back the combustion engine under the hood of the legendary muscle car. The six-cylinder will be joined by a full-fat eight-cylinder, even turbocharged.
