DJI Debuts Osmo Pocket 4P at Cannes, Ushering in a New Era of Handheld Cinematic Excellence
DJI says the compact dual-lens camera adds 10-bit D-Log2 color and improved low-light performance for professional storytelling.
On Friday, DJI unveiled the Osmo Pocket 4P at the Cannes Film Festival in France, positioning the dual-lens handheld gimbal camera as the company's cinema-tier consumer device.
The company is pivoting from the "content creator" market to "professional" filmmaking, using the prestigious Cannes stage to signal a transition from a creator tool into a cinema-tier imaging device.
Featuring a Type 1 sensor with "enhanced portrait capabilities," the camera promises "cinematic-level dynamic range" and "rich tonal depth" with 10-bit D-Log2 color for professional grading workflows.
Although DJI did not announce pricing or release dates, a company spokesperson confirmed the device will be available through official channels and integrate with the DJI Power 2000.
Availability in the United States may be delayed due to ongoing regulatory issues with the FCC and the broader U.S. drone ban affecting recent product releases.
