The Amazing Charity Where DIY SOS Children In Need Was Filmed
The Cheshire facility expansion by DIY SOS and The Joshua Tree charity aims to support more children with cancer, addressing increased demand and improving family wellbeing.
- On November 13, the DIY SOS team revealed a transformed facility for children with cancer in Cheshire during a televised special that ran for around an hour and finished at approximately 10pm.
- Over recent years the charity has grown significantly and outgrown its original Cheshire base while providing bespoke support to children and families affected by childhood cancers.
- An army of volunteers and the DIY SOS team extended the charity's building in just 10 days, joined by Morning Live presenters Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton wearing steel toe capped boots, high viz and hard hats.
- The extension will accommodate more children undergoing cancer treatment and families to improve health and reduce isolation, providing tailored wraparound support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond, the charity said.
- This year the build marked a first-time collaboration with DIY SOS, Morning Live, and BBC Children in Need, with the reveal timed to coincide ahead of November 14.
