DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS, ORLANDO, FLORIDA, JUL 22 – The archway removal is part of a major overhaul to return the area to its animation roots with The Magic of Disney Animation reopening in 2026, replacing Star Wars: Launch Bay.
- In 2026, Disney's Hollywood Studios will unveil The Magic of Disney Animation inside a newly transformed area that replaces the existing Star Wars: Launch Bay attraction.
- The new attraction follows the closure of the existing space starting September 25, 2025, to prepare for the updated courtyard and animation experience.
- The Magic of Disney Animation features playful, character-led studio departments with interactive surprises, living portraits, a short film, character meet-and-greets, and a nearby indoor playground called Drawn to Wonderland.
- Director Trent Correy explained that the film was created with genuine enthusiasm and a wish among Disney Animation creators to honor their creative achievements and the studio’s rich history, while co-director Dan Abraham described the project as the most enjoyable experience of his career.
