Marvel Confirms New Name for MCU 'Avengers' Movie Just Months Before Release
Disney said more than 7,500 screens applied for certification as it rolls out a new large-format brand for premium tentpole releases.
- At CineEurope in Barcelona, Disney introduced Infinity Vision, a new large screening format standard that has received more than 7,500 applications from global exhibitors seeking certification for upcoming releases like Avengers: Doomsday.
- To qualify for the Infinity Vision brand, exhibitor screens must meet strict technical requirements: minimum width of 452, immersive sound like Dolby Atmos or 7.1, and brightness levels of 14 footlamberts in 2D or 6 in 3D.
- Disney formally launched the InfinityVisionTickets.com landing page today to support the September 25 re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore, which features a custom introduction and exclusive end tag for Infinity Vision and Imax screens.
- Industry leaders praised the initiative, with Cinema United Boss Michael O'Leary stating, "We compliment Disney," and Regal Cineworld Group CEO Eduardo Acuna noting the value of unified branding for premium large format experiences.
