Disneyland to drop parkhopping restrictions later this year; Monsters, Inc. ride to stay open into 2027
Disneyland will remove unpopular parkhopping time limits introduced after COVID-19 while still requiring reservations to manage attendance, officials said.
- Later this year, Disneyland officials will allow daily visitors and Magic Key annual passholders to parkhop at park opening, but reservations will still be required.
- After the COVID-19 reopening, parkhopping was limited to later in the day, replacing decades of unrestricted access, due to attendance limits and reservation rules, Disneyland officials said.
- Operational and engineering improvements delivered, Disneyland officials said, enabling roughly 1.5 ride experiences and roughly 200,000 additional holiday-season ride experiences.
- Later this year, Disneyland officials will allow daily visitors and Magic Key annual passholders to parkhopping at opening, while maintaining reservations, to improve queue and dispatch procedures and help visitors accomplish more in a day.
- While Disney undertakes global projects, major new lands and attractions remain years away, so operational changes like parkhopping at opening matter more to families planning visits this year.
