Disney Teases Updates to Carousel of Progress, New Monstropolis and Tropical Americas
Disney said the refreshed Carousel of Progress will reopen with new scenes as Monstropolis and Tropical Americas move forward.
Walt Disney World announced a major update to the Carousel of Progress attraction on Monday, alongside plans for two future lands: Monstropolis and Tropical Americas.
The classic attraction will feature new voice talent portraying characters John and Sarah, alongside updated scenes spanning the 1960s, 1980s, Y2K, and a possible future.
Imagineers designed Monstropolis to include creatures with "monsterfied" characteristics that add personality and charm to the city's streets, featuring a Monsters, Inc. attraction.
Tropical Americas will replace the former DinoLand U.S.A. area, offering Disney's first Encanto-themed ride and a new Indiana Jones attraction alongside a Maya-inspired play area.
These expansions represent significant growth for the parks, with projects rolling out in phases to enhance guest experiences through new themed lands and updated classic attractions.
