UK to Switzerland high speed train working group to be established

The direct railway line between London and Switzerland intended by the SBB by 2030 is moving forward. Transport Minister Albert Rösti and his British counterpart Heidi Alexander signed on Thursday in London a declaration of intent to this effect.

There is a great need for travel to London. According to Bund, this can be seen from the many flight connections.

EUROPE: A joint working group is to bring together the British and Swiss governments and rail industry experts to examine how to overcome the commercial and technical barriers to launching a direct high speed train service between the countries.

Britain and Switzerland have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a direct rail link between London and Switzerland, the government announced on Friday.
