The Nationalbank now expects growth in 2026 of four percent. In March, the forecast was for growth of 1.8 percent.
The Nationalbank expects much higher growth this year than previously. Much of the growth, however, will come from Danish pharmaceutical production abroad.
The progress in the Danish economy is primarily driven by the pharmaceutical industry's production abroad.
The Danish economy is in balance, says the Nationalbank, which at the same time calls for the fiscal accelerator not to be stepped on any further.
Denmark's economy is expected to pick up as a result of increased production from the country's pharmaceutical sector. The country's central bank forecasts GDP growth of 4 percent for 2026, an upward revision from 1.8 percent in March.
The Danish economy is doing surprisingly well. In fact, the total pie, the gross domestic product, will grow by 4 percent this year – even more than the government expects – and inflation is expected to remain at 1.7 percent despite exploding energy prices.
