Dennis Locorriere, Dr. Hook Singer and Guitarist, Dies at 76
- On Saturday, Dr Hook frontman Dennis Locorriere died at age 76 after a 'long and courageous battle' with kidney disease, his management said.
- Locorriere founded the group in 1971 with Ray Sawyer, Billy Francis, and George Cummings; the band was known as Dr Hook and The Medicine Show until 1975.
- The band achieved fame with hits including 'When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman,' 'Sharing The Night Together,' and 'Sylvia's Mother,' later releasing the 40-track collection 'Timeless' in 2014.
- Born in Union City, New Jersey, Locorriere lived abroad for 24 years before his death, recording more than 18 albums across a career spanning nearly six decades.
- Locorriere played in Glasgow many times, most recently in 2022 at the Kelvingrove Bandstand, and previously performed at the Royal Concert Hall in 2021 for the band's 50th anniversary tour.
