The original Šmejkalka bridge on the 24th kilometer of the Brno D1 highway is disappearing. Workers, with the help of cranes and other heavy equipment, have begun demolishing the first half heading towards Prague. Drivers must fit into narrowed lanes in the central belt and in the remaining direction towards Brno.
Construction workers repairing the Šmejkalka bridge on the D1 highway near Senohrab have begun demolishing the half of the bridge in the direction of Prague. Traffic is being diverted to the opposite side of the highway and the central dividing strip that workers have built in recent months. Previously, cars drove in both directions in two narrowed lanes offset to the sides to leave the middle part free for construction.
