Democrats are trolling Trump and the GOP over the Jeffrey Epstein case
WAPELLO COUNTY, IOWA, JUL 15 – Democrats push for transparency on Jeffrey Epstein files as GOP fractures deepen, with some Republicans breaking ranks and Justice Department refusing to release more evidence, lawmakers said.
- On July 15 at the U.S. House, Democrats demanded release of Epstein records, trolling Republicans on social media and news shows.
- After the Justice Department said last week no additional files would be released, Democrats sensed an opening and pressed Republicans by demanding file releases.
- House Speaker Mike Johnson broke ranks with Trump, saying `we should put everything out there and let the people decide`, while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries added `you're not hiding anything, prove that to the American people`.
- A Republican-controlled House committee voted down Rep. Ro Khanna’s amendment on July 14, and Trump attempted to cast doubt on July 15 about what the files may contain.
- Today, 18 House Judiciary Committee Democrats sent a letter to Chairman Jim Jordan requesting a bipartisan hearing on the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein matter, including testimony from Bondi and FBI officials.
