In the Chungcheong region, the first round of the Democratic Party of Korea's regional primary, candidate Lee Jae-myung won an overwhelming first place with 88.15% of the votes. Candidate Kim Dong-yeon came in second with 7.54% of the votes, and candidate Kim Kyung-soo came in third with 4.31% of the votes.
