Metod Berlec, in his commentary The Balkan Mafia Contamination of Slovenia Continues, writes about mafia activity in Slovenian institutions. He believes that Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković is the personification of this type of activity and that he is protected by a post-communist network that is selecting new faces and systematically settling scores with SDS President Janez Janša.
